Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where is Finnish used?

The Finnish language is mainly spoken in Finland but is also used by people of Finnish origin in Sweden and other neighbouring countries. It belongs to the Fenno-Ugric group of languages and is related to Estonian and Hungarian.

2. Are all your Finnish conference interpreters from Finland?

Yes, but not always. If an interpreter is required to translate solely into Finnish then we would only have a Finn do so. However, if it was from Finnish into English (or any other language) then we would have a native English speaker.

3. Do you only have interpreters in Finland?

We don't have any conference interpreters in Finland. We are a UK based company so the majority of our work is in London and the UK. Our conference interpreters are therefore all residents of the UK. We do occassionally send people to the rest of Europe.

4. How much does it cost to book a Finnish interpreter for a day?

Our daily rate is flexible and is worked out depending on the location of the conference, the subject matter, the length and the languages involved. To get a quote please contact one of our staff who can best advise you.

5. Do you also provide equipment?

Yes - we can also provide a range of interpreting equipment such as booths, headphones, microphones and PA systems. We can also record proceedings if need ne. Visit our Conference Interpreting Equipment page for more information.
